Dog FAQ

1.

How long does it take to groom a dog?

Typically appointments will take between 3-5 hours depending on the size of the dog, coat condition and temperment.

2.

How much does grooming cost?

Grooming costs will depend on the size of your dog and type of coat your dog has. Prices will be discussed during drop off. If you would like a quote for your dog feel free to send us an email with a photo of your dog and the haircut you desire. Please note that a quote is NOT the final price of your groom, it is strictly to give you an idea of how much you may be expecting to pay. It is very hard to give a price until we meet your pet in person.

3.

Do I need to bring anything if my dog is getting groomed?

You can bring any special shampoo or treats that you feel your dog will need to make them feel more comfortable.

4.

5.

Does my dog need to be spayed or neutered to attend grooming?

No.

Can I bring my dog in for a haircut without a bath?

Unfortunately no, a good bath and drying is necessary to achieve a good quality groom.

6.

If I can't pick up my dog when the groom is finished can I leave them there? Is there a fee?

It's always better to pick up your dog as soon as they are finished. However, if you cannot do so and it is in a reasonable timeframe we can accommodate you depending on the day, free of charge.

7.

How often should I get my dog groomed?

We recommend you groom your dog every 4-6 weeks to keep their coat healthy.

8.

When should my puppy have its first groom?

The sooner the better! Getting your puppy used to the grooming process will help them feel less stressed and more comfortable as time goes by.

9.

Do you offer to do pick up and drop offs?

Not at this time.

10.

Do you groom dogs over 40 pounds?

We accept all breeds and all sizes now-- Great Danes included!

11.

My dog is matted but I don't want them shaved, can you de-matt my dog?

Depending on the severity of the matting, de-matting might not be the best option for your dog. We always make sure that your dog is safe and comfortable during their groom and excessive de-matting causes a lot of stress and pain.

12.

My dog was just shaved, is there anything I should be on the lookout for?

Shaving your dog does put them at a higher risk of injuries during and post groom. Dogs may act differently afterward; they may be itchy and scratch themselves raw and they may lick themselves more than usual. This is to be expected after shaving your dog. Note that shaving does not cause these injuries to your matted dog, but rather the injuries are already present before the groom, and the groom just allows you to see those injuries that have already occurred. Keeping an eye on your dog for the next few days is best to prevent any possible issues.

13.

Can owners stay during the groom?

We are not able to accommodate this request at the moment.

14.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept debit & credit cards.

15.

Can I drop my dog off early?

We would prefer that you drop your dog off on time. That being said, early drop-off can be accommodated on a case by case basis.

16.

Do you do anal glands?

We only do anal glands if requested by the owners. We only do external expression and only of it is safe to do so. There is also an additional charge for anal glands to be added to the total of your groom.
